A skilled workforce is needed
Michigan has an aging population and declining birth rate. Its residents have lower levels of education and skills compared to neighboring states and the nation overall. With over 350,000 job openings, many requiring a postsecondary credential, upskilling Michigan’s adult population must be a priority.

Our State. Our Mission.
The Michigan Center for Adult College Success was created in Michigan statute to support achieving the state’s Sixty by 30 talent goal. The Center will serve as the state’s primary resource for research, support and best practices on increasing adult enrollment and completion of credentials and degrees. The Center also has an explicit mission to serve Michigan’s community colleges to help implement best practices that will increase adult enrollment and completion for the Michigan Reconnect program.
Reconnect participating community colleges are eligible for a variety of supports from The Michigan Center for Adult College Success to support adult enrollment and completion.

The Michigan Center for Adult College Success will be offering Innovation Investment Awards to help postsecondary institutions implement best practices or pilot new ideas to better serve adult students in a way that increases completion rates.
